You can play Pickleball on our macadam courts

We are excited to introduce outdoor pickleball at Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre. Our outdoor macadam courts have been newly marked with pickleball lines, allowing you to enjoy this fast-growing sport in a high-quality setting.

Pickleball is a dynamic and accessible game that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Played on a court measuring 20 by 44 feet, with a net slightly lower than a tennis net, players use solid paddles and a plastic ball with holes. The game begins with an underhand serve, and points are scored only by the serving team. Games are typically played to 11 points, with the winning team needing a 2-point lead.

A key rule in pickleball is the double-bounce rule, requiring each team to let the ball bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed. Additionally, there is a non-volley zone, known as the kitchen, where players cannot hit the ball in the air. The strategic aspects of the game include "dinking," or making soft shots into the non-volley zone, and "driving," which involves hitting powerful shots deep into the opponent's court.

Whether you're executing a delicate dink or a powerful drive, pickleball offers a fun, social, and strategic experience for players of all ages and skill levels. We invite everyone to come try this engaging sport at Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre, whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to the game
